Transit of Venus, observed from Loomberah, NSW, Australia
Exposures at ~10minute intervals through a 25cm f/4.1 Newtonian telescope and Thousand Oaks TypeII solar filter. Taken with a Nikon D70 digital camera. Constant duration exposures show the dimming of Sun as it nears the horizon, also the change in shape due to differential refraction. Solar images have been rotated 58 degrees anticlockwise.
The image quality was greatly degraded by the dithering of colours in the GIF animator software.
